Battlefield 3 Beta Added to Medal of Honor Limited Edition
Electronic Arts Inc. today revealed new details of the Medal of Honor Limited Edition that will be released in North America on October 12, 2010. The Limited Edition* features a host of weapons, powerful ammunition and camouflage. The weapons and camouflage give players a tactical gameplay advantage on day one. EA also announced today that people who own the Medal of Honor Limited Edition will receive an invitation to the beta** for another highly-anticipated EA shooter, Battlefield 3™. Battlefield 3 is the latest entry in the award-winning shooter franchise from DICE in Stockholm, Sweden. This Sunday August 1, be sure to check out a 100% all-new Medal of Honor gameplay trailer directed by Linkin Park’s Joe Hahn. The trailer will feature in-game footage set to the band’s recently-announced single ‘The Catalyst’ at Clicky Me. More details about the Battlefield 3 beta itself can also be found at Clicky Me. Medal of Honor Limited Edition also features special content out-of-the-box including the MP-7, a weapon utilized by real-world Tier 1 Operators in the field. With its light weight, high rate of fire as well as its ability to penetrate body armor, the MP-7 handles like a pistol yet allows targets to be engaged like a rifle. The Limited Edition also includes two powerful shotguns with custom slugs. These devastating shotguns and ammunition are ideal for close-range fights. Update: The Limited Edition is available to anyone who pre-orders the game. If you pre-ordered the game prior to the announcement of the Limited Edition -- don't worry, you'll still get it! * The PlayStation 3 version of the Limited Edition also includes the classic, Medal of Honor Frontline™ completely remastered in HD. **Restrictions and conditions apply to Beta offer. See Clicky Me for details.

Patch News
After a lot of trials and tribulations, all versions of the game client has now completed QA successfully. We will do no more testing on it. All game servers will need to be taken down for updates. The maintenance period starts on Wednesday Jun 30th at 07:00AM (GMT+2). Most of them should be back up by 11:00AM (GMT+2). During this time window, we will also release the new game client. Check back after 11:00AM (GMT+2), and try out the new game client! ------------------ The client patch is approximately 890MB large. The list of changes is pretty much the same as is listed here. I'm going to write a post which explains some of the background behind the delays later tonight.

Battlefield 3 is Coming!
May 26th, 2010 Battlefield 3 is coming 2011. An Electronic Arts executive has teased BF3`s existence last year and DICE actually has not been shy about the notion of another traditional installment in the series. Former DICE executive Fredrik Liliegren recently told Gaming Union the upcoming Battlefield 3 will blow people away when it’s eventually released. Liligren was the CEO of DICE from 1988 to 2000 before becoming studio manager of DICE Canada from 2001 to 2006. DICE Canada was folded after EA fully acquired the company. “What the PC version is going to be, Battlefield 3, I think it’s going to absolutely blow everyone away,” said Liligren. “But I can’t tell you what it is, but it will blow people away.” Clicky Me [Submitted by Jackal]
